Moda je trivialna. Ali ne?

Modo vsi konzumiramo, vsi smo hote ali nehote podvrženi smernicam, preko dostopne ponudbe ali preko lastne izbire.

Ali res imamo izbiro? Ali smo dovolj pozorni na to, kaj kupimo? Ali se kdaj vprašamo, če bi lahko naše zavedanje in nakupovalne navade pomenile tudi spremembo? Ali dovolj natančno beremo etikete?

Oblačila so v sodobnem času potrošni material. Niso več naložba, kot so to bila včasih. Niso več cenjeni kosi, ki bi se prenašali iz roda v rod in določali močno identiteto. Moda je poceni. Nova dentiteta je vsak dan naprodaj. V današnjem porušenem sistemu vrednot iz prodajaln odhajamo z velikimi vrečami oblačil. Kaj se je zgodilo z enim samim, dobro izbranim kosom?

Kaj danes določa vrednost produkta? Ali je to zgolj cena?

Verjamemo, da sodobno oblikovanje je in mora (p)ostati oblika preizpraševanja, redefinicije in iskanja pravih odgovorov aktualnih realnosti. Kljub mamljivi udobnosti oblikovanja zgolj lepih kolekcij.

“Nova valuta v modi” izpostavlja aktualne koncepte sodobnega oblikovanja. Apelira na pomembne vsebine in dodane vrednosti za današnji čas in s tem postavlja nove smernice, pomembnejša merila* sodobne kvalitete. Poudarja pravo vrednost produkta.

Razstava predstavlja sistem vrednotenja oblačil z vpeljavo nove vrednosti TAF*, katera po sodobnih merilih pomeni dejansko vrednost produkta, popolnoma neodvisno od njegove cene. Nov parameter je vsota vseh dodatnih lastnosti, ki so pomembne v sodobni modi, oblikovanju, življenju.

V predstavljeni vzorčni kolekciji oblačil se poskuša doseči čim višja TAF* vrednost – čim višja kvaliteta produkta, katera je izražena skozi metrično ocenjevanje posameznih parametrov novega sistema vrednotenja. Sistem je uporabljen kot podlaga in kriterij za oblikovanje in preizkuša možnosti proizvodnje z upoštevanjem novih standardov v praksi. Postopek vrednotenja je viden na etiketi posameznega oblačila.

Struktura sistema je odprta, dopušča možnosti nadgradnje ter odzivov na spremembe v modni industriji. Sistem se lahko uporabi za vrednotenje katerega koli izdelka industrijskega oblikovanja.

Fashion is trivial? Not?

We are all fashion consumers, intentionally or unintentionally – we are all subjected to some form of following trends.

Is there even a conscious choice? Are we attentive enough as to what we purchase? Do we question our buying habits? Do we have enough information? Do we even read labels anymore?

Fashion has cheapened itself. New identity is on sale every day. In contemporarily disturbed system of priorities we leave the stores with big bags full of clothing. What happened to buying one single piece, carefully chosen, which represented your identity to the dot?

What really represents the today’s value of a product? Is it only about the price?

We believe that contemporary design is obligated to become a form of re-questioning, redefinition and seeking for new answers to the current issues in contrast to the usual comfort of designing aesthetically pleasing collections.

Currency of Fashion emphasizes the actual questions in contemporary design. It highlights the important content and added value in today’s world and moreover, sets new trends or new standards of contemporary quality. It attempts to reveal the real value of a product.

The exhibition presents a new system of evaluating garments with the implementation of a TAF* value that signifies the actual value of a product and it is completely independent of the garment’s price. The new parameter is the sum of all qualities which should be essential in contemporary fashion, design and lifestyle.

With the help of a sample collection, we have attempted to reach the highest TAF* value as possible. As such, we used this new TAF* system as criteria for designing a line of clothing, through which we demonstrated and test the possibilities of producing garments by these new standards. The process and parameters of evaluation are additionally explained on the tags.

The structure of the system is open and can be upgraded according to future needs and changes in the industry. It can be applied to evaluate any kind of industrially designed product.
